Rembrandt House Museum

What was a surprise to see an ipu in Rembrandt’s Collection!  I doubt this is the original ipu Rembrandt had in his collection, as he had to sell everything to cover his bankruptcy.  The museum said they recreated his collection from detailed records of the sale of his belongings, which is in a book displayed at the museum.  Where did he get it from?   Since Captain Cook discovered Hawaii in 1778, well over 100 years after Rembrandt’s death in 1669, it most certainly came from another island in the Pacific somehow.
