Race on the Base, Los Alamitos, CA
I went with my running friend, Jim, to run the annual "Race on the Base" event at the Los Alamitos military base early this morning. Weather was around 50 degrees with light clouds. Great race conditions. I finished the 5k run around 19:41 and placed 4th in the 40-45 age group and about 25th overall. I was about 10 seconds slower than my time last year at this same race :( Then we ran the 10k about 30 mins later. I finished the 10k around 42:05 which is a PR for me! I am very pleased with my finish times today considering that I haven't raced any 5k's or 10k's for the last 8 months. Time to start adding in some speedwork into my training!

Busy Sunday!
Today certainly was a BUSY day. We spent all day starting around 11:30am shuttling the girls back and forth to the Irvine Barclay theater at UCI for a Chinese New Years performance. Jody and Jamie both performed with their Chinese classes from the Irvine Chinese school. They didn't get home until about 9pm. What a day! Here's 2 pictures of Jody and Jamie when they got home.
